MARION, Ill. – From classic cars and custom bikes to food trucks and burnouts, the 5th annual Take Me Out to the Car Show promises a full day of fun! Hosted by Interstate Tire Pros Auto Service, Take Me Out to the Car Show is set for Saturday, June 13th at Mtn Dew Park in Marion. The annual event will feature food trucks, vendors, music, and a variety of cars, trucks, and motorcycles all vying for recognition. “We’ve been happy with the turnout over the years. We’ve had folks from all across southern Illinois, and even some from several states away, enter the show!” said Shawn Hughes, president of Interstate Tire Pros Auto Service. Another popular attraction at Take Me Out to the Car Show is the burnout contest. Open to licensed drivers over the age of 18, the burnout contest costs $10 to enter and requires a signed waiver and proof of insurance. “The burnouts are always a big hit. You get the engine revving, smoke rolling, and people cheering – it’s a lot of fun! Plus, there’s a chance to win a trophy. What’s better than that?” added Hughes. The 5th annual Take Me Out to the Car Show runs 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13 and is free to attend. For those who wish to register a vehicle in the show, the cost will be $20 at the gate. Registration will close at noon on June 13 to allow for judging. Awards will be presented at 2 p.m. Proceeds from this year’s event will go to support Marion’s The Promise Mission, which provides meals, clothing, food boxes, and more to those in need, and Wani’s Warriors, a West Frankfort organization that helps families with necessities like food, formula, and diapers, as well as back-to-school clothes and children’s gifts at Christmas.
